Planning Your Senior Photo Session
CHOOSING YOUR OUTFIT Choosing what you wear to your senior photo shoot is kind of a big deal. After all, anyone who cares about fashion will tell you that what you wear is an expression of who you are. It's obviously not the only thing that defines you, but the duds you don certainly make a first - and lasting - impression. When selecting your session day outfits, think about what your style sense is and what you envision for the shoot. I highly recommend flipping through fashion magazines, perusing Pinterest and checking out in-the-know blogs for inspiration. And don't forget: from head to toe, details matter! Thoughtfully select the perfect shoes, accessories, jewelry and even layering details when putting together your outfits.
CHOOSING THE LOCATION Selecting where you have your photos taken goes along with choosing props. I have a whole list of locations to choose from and we'll talk details once you book. Meanwhile, it's a good idea to get the gears turning. Think about what kind of a vibe you want for your pictures. Is it earthy? Urban? Academic?
CHOOSING PROPS Speaking of props, those are a really important part of your photo session. We'll definitely get photographs of you without props, but we want to make sure we include pictures of you with meaningful items that represent who you are.
FAQ for Seniors
When is the best time to schedule my session?
That depends on you! There is no best time. Think about the look that you are going for. A sunny beach session? Something with more seasonal colors? What are your academic and sports obligations? Does your yearbook require personal images by a certain date? Fall sessions are great for holiday gift options. Spring sessions capture your end-of-year look. Why not do one of each?
How long will my session last?
Your session time will be based upon the collection purchased. I offer several collections ranging from a petite 30 minute session with 1 look and 1 location all the way to a Total Collection with 4 sessions to capture all aspects of your Senior year.
What kinds of products do you offer?
I provide all sorts of products. Your parents are probably interested in the gift prints, albums and gallery wraps. You may be more interested in graduation invites and wallet prints.
How many outfit changes can I have?
I don't place a restriction on your number of outfit changes. However, that does take up part of your session time. I recommend 2 outfits for a 90 minute session and include some layer pieces to add variety to your looks.
